Product Details The Sony h.ear-Style Sports Headphones are great for athletes with their water-resistant construction, secure and snug fit, and a clip that lets you secure the headphones to your clothes. The in-ear design minimizes the headphones' size and weight, allows you to hear traffic and other sounds, and won't leave your ears feeling raw after hours of use. The headband-free design follows the contour of your ears, and the tangle-free storage cord can be adjusted, making it easy to put these headphones in purses or briefcases.
Product Reviews (4 stars) - great 4 sports I have gone through 2 sets of earphones on my MP3 player in about 2 years, which I mainly use while running. I sweat a LOT when running, so I suspect the constant abuse of sweat on previous phones is what did them in. Only time will tell if these will hold up to repeated use under "extreme" conditions, but I was happy to see that they were called out in the product description as being resistant to sweat. (None of the other earphones I've used were designated as sports-friendly).
As far as performance so far, they are certainly doing the trick. They fit well to the point where I don't even feel them, and they do NOT wiggle off of my ears while running. Forget about the earbud versions for any type of physical activity, but I've also had other wrap-around-the-ear versions that don't quite stay in place. The sound quality is great. Seems better than other products I've used, bass response is excellent, and you don't have to crank up the volume on your MP3 to get decent sound output. I highly recommend this product for anyone that needs earphones to stay in place when moving around and wants decent sound quality too. I hope they last through my sweaty workouts, but even if they don't, I'd probably get another set!
(1 stars) - Not good for running or even general use These are too small for my ears but I'm not sure they're good in terms of sound. It seems that good sound only comes out of the right ear then the sound bleeds outside to the point it may disturb others even at low volumes. I'm very disappointed in them.
(2 stars) - Sony headphone Searched and searched for an on the ear type headphone and hope this was the one. WRONG, they are a real pain to fit and are not comfortable. I guess if you have the perfect ear size and shape it would work.
(4 stars) - Good for the price but catches wind when moving fast. I recently bought these headphones to replace my Sennheiser CX400's for when I'm biking. The Sennheisers sound great, but the fact that they are sound isolating is what prompted me to buy these headphones. These headphones allow me to be able hear my surroundings while listening to music. The only downside is that when you're moving fast (may not be an issue for jogging, but definitely so for biking) the headphones tend to catch the wind, causing you to hear the "blowing wind" sound you get when you drive on the highway with your windows open. I believe it's a design issue for this particular type of headphone. Headphones with a single band(as opposed to clip on) or open-air headphones that fit further into the ear would probably be better for biking.
These headphones were also loose, but I was also able to bend the loop in overnight using wooden clips.
Pros: Cheap, Sounds decent, Able to hear surroundings.
Cons: Catches wind when moving at higher speeds, Lacks bass(to be expected)
(4 stars) - perfect for someone on the go 1) Whether I'm running, biking or just sitting at my desk, the clips help keep these in my ears without all the jiggling & jangling of a threat to pop-ou
2) Most of the earbuds & round headphones you "plug" into the ear hole area tend to hurt my ears after a bit. The fact that the speakers only sit inside my ear without pushing on it leaves no pain
3) CON - NOT Waterproof!! Just ordered my 2nd pair after ruining my first because of water
4) The length of the cord is not too short. I can have my ipod in my shorts pocket and there is no threat of the headphones getting pulled out of my ear because there is just the right amount of slack.
5) Hard to find. . .Sony came out with a new flexible rubber style model (Sony Mdr-As20J) . I have both, and either will do, though I find these are easier to get on and off than the newer model
6) This model can come in multiple colors
7) CON - depending on the color you want, Amazon charges different prices, which makes no sense to me. White is the most expensive and orange the least expensive.
8) Whether listening to some tunes or to an audiobook, the sound is always clear and crisp
OVERALL: I love these headphones and don't see any reason to try another brand
