Vincent Price is one of the most beloved stars Hollywood ever saw. His extraordinary career spanned over five decades, and covered every media: film, television, radio, theater. Although best known as a horror movie star, Price's own immeasurable charm and warmth was always reassuring, always compelling. All Day Entertainment pays tribute to this great actor with a deluxe collector's edition DVD celebrating his remarkable accomplishments. The centerpiece of the DVD is a 62 minute interview of Vincent Price conducted in 1987 by film historian David Del Valle. Additionally, this disc features a separate 40 minute audio interview between Del Valle and Price. Also included are two complete TV programs highlighting Vincent Price's television career--"Half Hour to Kill: Freedom to Get Lost" (1958, 30 min.) and "Shindig!: The Wild Weird World of Dr. Goldfoot" (1965, 30 min.). "Three Skeleton Key" (1958, 30 min.), a radio drama from the series "Escape," rounds out the collection--truly a Vincent Price fan's dream!

The intervview was interesting. However, I downloaded this feature so that I could use the content focused on Three Skeleton Key. This 30 minute feature doesn't seem to be included, as stated in the decription.

this DVD contains an interview with Vincent in 1987 at the peak of his career. Vincent talks about all parts of his career spanning 1935-1987 and he seems to get the most fun talking about his plays or the friendships he has made in his career. When the host of the special brings up certain segments of his horror career, Vincent says what he thinks about his movies or the scripts or whatever without apology. Some of his critiques of his own films are too negative. He's often too hard on himself in some aspects. Aside from the 1987 interview, the DVD also contains a 42 minute radio {audio} interview and two TV shows he appeared on. There's also a radio show called "Escape!" that you hear. There's also a 1965 TV show called "The Wild World of Dr. Goldfoot" that ran as a promo for the Goldfoot film. The DVD ends with 200+ pictures of him at various stages of his career. This DVD is wonderful and a nice companion to Victoria Price's book about her father and Lucy Chase Williams' book on Vincent's films.

this video was really good except for the Shindig episode. Dr. Goldfoot was kind of awful. With Vinnie having done so many great shows, i would have preferred to have seen him recite some Poe work or even the Thriller Rap! Vinnie lives!!!
(4 stars) - The Talented Man Behind The Sinister Image
This DVD is a mixed bag of rarities. The hourlong interview of Vincent Price by David Del Valle is very informative and entertaining, focusing mostly on his movie career. However, their audio interview is superfluous, covering much of the same material. Without any visuals, it starts to get boring before too long. The same cannot be said for the "Three Skeleton Key" radio segment. The descriptive story, the sound effects and Vincent's voice make for compelling listening, with one's imagination creating the visuals. "Freedom To Get Lost" is an episode from the Half Hour To Kill television anthology, which I am totally unfamiliar with. This particular story was much closer to Alfred Hitchcock Presents than The Twilight Zone. My favorite segment is a Shindig special from 1965, "The Wild, Weird World Of Dr. Goldfoot." Vincent Price appears to be having a blast playing the evil doctor, surrounded by beautiful, bikini-clad babes.

An absolutely wonderful disc dedicated to the memory of one of the greatest actors of all time. I have always been a Vincent Price fan, and was overjoyed to see this come out on DVD. If you love Price this is highly recommended for you. The interviews are wonderful and very informative, the extras are just as good. My favorite extra on here was the Shindig special of The Wild Weird World Of Dr. Goldfoot. Get this DVD right away!!
