I love this bookshelf. While it's a little smaller that I expected it to be, it fits perfectly in the space I needed it for. No assembly was required, all I did was unpack it and the shelves folded down - very simple. For the price and style, it's a great deal!

Moving again - for the 4th time this year, and the 15th time in past 20 adult years. I have assembled more furniture than I care to remember, and I'm getting old and tired. So what a wonderful surprise to have this be as absolutely simple to install (you just open it), and as good looking as promised. It's just that easy, and it's stable etc. Was delivered right on time - 2 of them - in perfect condition. Thanks!

I am very happy with the shelf. It sits by my bed, takes up only a little room and holds my clothes, laptop, books etc. It arrived in good shape, took no assembly and matches the bedroom furniture perfectly. Couldn't be happier. Saved me building my own!

(4 stars) - Great, but Inspect Carefully on Opening
I have 3 of these bookcases, and I'm very happy with this. The lack of assembly is a huge plus, and they're great for moving around because they're very lightweight.

HOWEVER, INSPECT CAREFULLY! As many of the reviewers have stated, these do tend to get damaged in shipment, and at times, it seems that quality control is slightly lacking. Of the 3 I ordered, two were lovely and had no problems, but the third had been assembled shoddily. The bottom and top pieces of the vertical support slats were incorrectly glued together on the right side of the frame. In turn, this caused several cracks throughout the frame where it attached to the shelves because the alignment was off. I didn't notice the other cracks at first, but luckily when I saw the misaligned frame, I scrutinized the rest of the construction.

I called Target and was able to get a replacement sent out immediately, even before UPS had picked up the defective bookcase. Yes, it was a bit of a hassle, but I think it was worthwhile because these are great additions to my living room.

The back-stop is helpful on each shelf because things don't easily go flying off the back, but it still preserves the appearances of an open construction. Most of my living room furniture is a combination of oak mission styling and wrought iron, and I found that the coloring of these bookcases results in an aesthetic that goes with both styles. It balances well and everything harmonizes.
