I rarely review products, but I felt compelled to make an exception with this percolator, The reviews of this product that I read seemed to be good and reasonable over all except for the plastic, (easily replaceable with glass), top. I ordered it. I didn't realize I was getting a coffee pot kit. When it arrived the handle wasn't attached. There weren't even any holes drilled for the screw. This could have worked out OK If I wanted to be different and, say... mount the handle on the side. Then I put the lid on the pot and couldn't get it back off with any amount of force. I stopped short of snapping the plastic top off. I had to pry it off with a screwdriver. Needless to say I'm sending it back for a refund. P. S. I found a great percolator at ACE hardwear, IN THE STORE. It's a Fitx All rapid brew with a glass top. Good quality. Works great. Look around on AMAZON. It's here too, but why bother?

I love this product. My coffee always has a full flavor - no weak, watery tasting brew anymore. Very easy to clean. I am relieved I'll never have to buy another electric percolator that has a lifetime of about six months. I recieved the product in three days from JR. Thoroughly satisfied - I wish I had a 12 cup for when I have guests over!!

This product is even better than I hoped. Solid construction, it even looks good on the stove top. The coffee flavor is so much better than coffee made with an expensive electric unit. The only improvement would be the add-on glass top, sold separately.

(5 stars) - The Last One You'll Ever Need to Buy!!
Most of the time, the old ways are the best ways. (It's taken me 50+ years to figure this out!) I've bought several electric coffee makers that take up my counter space and only last a year or two, regardless of how much you pay for them. This is one great coffee pot, heavy weight, made well, with classic styling pretty and shiny. It takes about 15 minutes to brew a pot of HOT coffee. Fill up the pot to just below the hole under the spout, get the basket wet BEFORE putting in your grounds (medium-course grind works best) you won't have any grounds in your cup after pouring. Bring the pot to a boil and once it starts to percolate I shut my electric burner off and leave the coffee pot on it to finish brewing. I haven't had any problems with the plastic knob, the handle stays cool. For those who haven't found the cup markings the pot IS MARKED inside and out behind the handle.
