Whether you are the one delegating or the one being delegated to, implementing these six steps is guaranteed to lighten your workload and give you more time to focus on whats really importanton and off the job.
Product Reviews (4 stars) - Delegation Model w simple story Good book, especially since it actually gives a model for delegation, rather than just talking about the benefits. Most supes/mgrs understand the benefits, but they don't understand how to delegate while maintaining quality and developing employees efficiently. This presents a good model for this. All in a format of a quick read book in "storytelling" format.
(2 stars) - Short not so sweet I found this book to be easy to read, but does not have all the details. You will have to use the help menu to follow the books instructions. Good idea but fell short. I did not use the disk it may have more thanwhat I read.
(5 stars) - Strong, simple and useful! The ability to effectively delegate is one of the most important attributes of a strong leader. This book dissects the act of delegation and sections it into definable and repeatable steps, creating a process. This book should be taught in MBA courses. My entire staff has read this book and strives to practice its lessons.
(5 stars) - Worth a quick read - will hone your skills You can read this one in about an hour, but you will probably want to read it twice. Excellent refresher or beginner for managers. I was surprised how a little self-reflection prompted by this book helped me hone my delegation skills. I have a colleague who keeps the 'quick reference' that comes with the book on hand at all times, and uses the steps to review his project list every week. The story is a bit simplistic, but it gets the point across.
(5 stars) - A believable story about effective delegation Some parables are great stories, but not "real world stories". This book made sense to me!
Similar to the One Minute Manager books, but the two main characters are not "super hero types".
Excellent summaries on key points, and an executive summary list at the end of the book.
A fun, easy read that could help you become a more effective delegator.
