(4 stars) - A well considered, useful, sampler
While clearly intended as a vehicle to get you hooked into buying the other books in the Legends & Lairs line or products, this is still a very useful book by itself. Lots of crunchy bits for immediate play, and also campaign setting ideas for longer-term play. It contains portions of the following other books (I also own books marked with an *, partly based on what I saw in this anthology book):

Path of the Sword *
Path of Shadow
Path of Faith
Path of Magic *
Spells & Spellcraft
Seafarer's Handbook *

Overall, for $5 this is a great buy for any 3e/3.5e gamer.
