Product Reviews

(4 stars) - The Best of Books; The Worst of Books
This book is an enigma...I read about ¾ of it at this point....Connie Brown is obviously a Super-Trader with much knowledge. But she has difficulty teaching it....The book is loaded with nuance and tips, but it is not presented in a cohesive manner...Indeed, there are vast sections which just seem to be her conscious ramblings....You will work very hard to get the most out of this book...The charts are usually a several year view without enough detail to aid in supporting the concepts she is discussing.

For example, the chapter on Eliot wave is a vast wasteland of thoughts from Connie with few sign-posts and structure...You will feel like you are drifting aimlessly in her thought desert - looking for an oases to turn this knowledge into an operational trading plan...I found this chapter to be unreadable which was very disapointing as it is the cornerstone (and by far largest chapter) of the book where all the techniques are to come together (and I am not picking on Connie - you can see from my other reviews - I gave her high marks on her later FIb book).

Connie often comes across as patronizing - an elite super trader - who admits in several sections to be holding back information...Connie, please read "The Secret" - the Law of Abundance states there is plenty out there for all of us ;-).

The chapter on Gann and Time analysis will leave you still thirsty in the desert of Connie's thoughts...There is further reading suggested and a link on her website where you can buy a Gann wheel for about [..]bucks. She presents this section as some semi-mystical area for just the chosen few who are willing to spend years in study....And I certainly was convinced....

Until I read Robert Miner's latest book called: "High-Probability Trading Strategies"...He takes all that what appears to be out of touch concepts in Connie's book -> Price, Patter, Time, and Momentum - and creates a fantastic, cohesive, understandable trading plan.....Ah ha, this isn't rocket science as presented by Connie!!! - Rather it is a set of pretty-easy techniques, rules, mixed with judgment as presented by Robert Miner!!!!!

Connie, you are obviously a trading genius...Your gift should be to create a cohesive, all-out (no secrets), useable- trading book to help us mere mortals - this is not that book....Give it up Connie!!! -After all, what are you saving it for?

(5 stars) - This book is a must for any elliottician !!!!
I have read Robert Prechter book like 4 times I know all what is needed to know about Elliott wave analysis, but I did find it hard applying it, this book tells you the real thing, do you know how does it feel when you know all the rules and when you want to apply them it gets difficult, well this book shows you how to see those waves in real life plus a lot more of very interesting things, like calculating price targets using RSI.

(1 stars) - Over My Head
I thought that this book was about technical analysis of the stock market. What I found was a book that was over my head in its content. I tried to read the chapters but got bored halfway to about 3/4's the way through. So I skimmed the rest of the chapters trying to make sense of what she was trying to teach. At this time, the book was a waste of money.

(5 stars) - A book that you start as an apprentice and finish as a master
There are books that teach you concepts of technical analysis, but none, except this, that tell you the nuances and how to acquire that razor sharp edge so essential for professional traders. This book touches on several concepts and explains how they can be interpreted / better analysed compared to the lay trader. The description on Elliott waves and how they can be combined with oscillators is perhaps the best analytical discourse on Elliott I have ever read. That single chapter is worth the cost.

However, the book has two negatives. One is the lack of adequate coverage on Gann, purportedly for "reasons of confidentiality", despite Constance claiming it to be her primary method. Second being that of marketing herself. I guess the class of the book itself is sufficient marketing enough and obvious references to her skills only create a jarring effect.

Overall its a book that you start as an apprentice (though a well versed apprentice, since its a book not for the beginners) and finish as a master.

(4 stars) - Very good advices but no free lunch
In this book you will really find invaluable hints and informations. New uses for RSI, when the author teaches how to put indicators on indicators; indicator reversals(wiht RSI) to sum up with the indicator divergences; how to use oscilattors(RSI in particular) to assess Elliot Wave counts; new methods for price projections with reverse engineering RSI and with Fibonacci(sure!).
Well, I tried to follow the market(real time and past charts) searching for RSI reversals and it really works, most of time. Also, price projection with RSI reverse engineering also works. Just export the prices and RSI from your vendor into an Excel spreadsheet and use the "forecast" formula, with price closes and RSI values. If at that time the correlation between RSI and prices are good(near 1), so the price projection will work(I tried myself many times, with a good rate of success).
The concept that RSI can also be used to detect a trend, opens a new window in how to use this oscillator.
Well, beside that, there are many, let's say, exotic points. The chapter about Gann is almost like a chapter of The Lord of Rings or Harry Poter(well, maybe because I didn't understand it!).
Anyway, even many concepts are not clear offered by the author(composite index and the Gann's methodology, as already commented by a reviewer)the book is worth the money, and you will learn a lot(and earn more) if you read it. But, it is not easy. I suggest you to have a good grasp on the basic indicators and technical analysis before start this journey.
And, take your time to read it. More, many more than once!
Ah! Make sure you have your chart in front of you to practice the ideas and concepts.
